txRED: Fluorescent Dye

(DB-411101)

txRED is a bright orange-red fluorescent dye that is structurally identical to Texas Red-X. With its high photostability and pH resistance, it has become one of the most widely used fluorophores in life sciences.

This version features an extra aminohexanoyl spacer ('X') between the fluorophore and its reactive group. This spacer separates the dye from the biomolecule, reducing steric hindrance and preventing fluorescence quenching. txRED is perfect for a variety of imaging applications, including confocal microscopy, flow cytometry (FACS), and labeling cell cultures and tissues.

Key Parameters: Great brightness and pH stability with lower costs

High photostability: txRED's rigid sulforhodamine structure helps prevent the formation of isomers in solution. Its optical properties remain incredibly consistent regardless of temperature or solvent changes.

Applications: Confocal microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, flow cytometry (FACS), cell cultures, and tissue labeling.

Lower cost alternative with protocol compatibility: Same Spectral Properties & Performance = Works exactly like Texas Red-X™ at a more accessible price. Use it as a direct substitute for standard Texas Red® or Alexa Fluor® 594.

Reduced fluorescence quenching: txRED features an extra aminohexanoyl ('X') spacer between the fluorophore and the biomolecule. This crucial spacer reduces steric hindrance and prevents the dye from quenching itself, resulting in a much brighter signal than traditional dyes.
