DIANA Biotechnologies is based in a biotechnology hub in Vestec near Prague, Czech republic. We are also closely collaborating with the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Academy of Sciences in Prague. We have a strong team combining expertise in molecular biology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, data analysis and technology transfer.
Our core team
Václav Navrátil – CEO & CTO
Václav is the main inventor of the DIANA technology and the CEO of our new company. He also still directly leads our research and developmental activities.
Václav studied biochemistry and theoretical chemistry at the Charles University in Prague and subsequently worked as a research scientist at the IOCB.
Martin Dienstbier – CFO & COO
Martin has been instrumental in transforming the DIANA technology from an academic project into a business venture. He is now responsible for our finances and operations.
Martin studied molecular biology at the University of Cambridge and worked as a research fellow at the University of Oxford, UK. He also worked in management consulting as a project leader for the Boston Consulting Group.
Jiří Schimer – Head of chemistry
Jiří is our chemistry guru who is responsible for designing and synthesizing small-molecular probes against new protein targets, which is the core of the DIANA technology.
Jiri studied biochemistry at the Charles University in Prague. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Georgia Institute of Technology, US, and in Petr Cigler’s group at IOCB.
Jan Tykvart – Senior research scientist
Jan serves as a head of our laboratory operations and is also instrumental in developing our new research and development projects.
Jan studied biochemistry at the Charles University in Prague, followed by PhD research at IOCB. He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, Canada, where he gained experience in developing diagnostic kits against Arboviral diseases.
Jitka Zemanová – Junior researcher
Jitka contributes to developing new DIANA assays and running the screening projects at our facility. She is also supporting our various R&D activities.
Jitka studied biochemistry at the Masaryk University in Brno and subsequently worked as a junior researcher at IOCB, where she participated on the development of the DIANA project.
Jakub Hejdánek – Junior researcher
Jakub is working on the development of DIANA-based ADME tests and is also supporting our various R&D activities.
Jakub studied biochemistry at the Charles University in Prague and subsequently worked as a junior researcher at IOCB, where he participated on the development of the DIANA project.
